I love water towers!
Seems a little crazy, right?
I mean they're not beautiful architectural pieces by any means. They are not lovely natural formations lit by sun and shadow.
But what they are is compelling to me. They are the center of a town. They are our history.
As we travel across the country, even the smallest of towns will usually surround a water tower. You can judge a town's growth by the density and sprawl from the tower. Some remain small communities, essentially a tower with a few sparse buildings around it.
This one is in the heart of North Park, in San Diego. The city has grown and expanded around it. But it remains a landmark.
